And the rain<br \/>\nfell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house,<br \/>\nand it fell not, for it was founded on a rock.<\/u><\/i><u> (Matthew 7:24-25)<o:p><\/o:p><\/u><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<u><br \/><\/u><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nAs Dominican religious who try to<br \/>\naid the cause of the Catholic Church in her mission to lead souls along the<br \/>\npath of salvation, a sound plan of action is needed if we are to succeed in<br \/>\nthis noble cause for the new year. The apostles who wish to sanctify<br \/>\nsouls must themselves firstly be closely united with God, for one cannot give<br \/>\nto others what one does not already possess.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/opsisters.org.nz\/preview\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Our-2Blady.jpg\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/opsisters.org.nz\/preview\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Our-2Blady.jpg\" height=\"200\" width=\"160\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nIn putting into practice the above<br \/>\nwords of Our Lord, January is thus a month where our spiritual energies are<br \/>\nconsolidated together by our annual retreat before being dedicated to God by<br \/>\nthe ceremonies of clothing and profession. Our prayer and contemplation<br \/>\nmust come first in our lives because it is only through these means that we can<br \/>\ngive with profit to those who come to us.<o:p><\/o:p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nIt was then with much<br \/>\nanticipation that we looked forward to the first week of January. This homage to Our Lady and Patroness of the order is dear to every Dominican heart, and it was enhanced by the attendance of our entire congregation of sisters.
