Saint Thomas received the Dominican<br \/>\nHabit while quite young and studied philosophy and theology under Saint Albert<br \/>\nthe Great. He is perhaps best known for his writing of the Summa Theologica (or<br \/>\na summary of the Catholic Doctrine). He never studied without first praying,<br \/>\nand is the patron of all Catholic Schools.<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"background: black; border: 1pt none black; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 0pt; line-height: 0px; padding: 0cm;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The highlight of the day was the news<br \/>\nthat the long awaited permit for the building of our new convent had been<br \/>\napproved! Our novena to St Thomas has been answered!! With this news, the<br \/>\nbuilding of the convent at 1 Tynong Road, on the school grounds, can finally move<br \/>\nforward. Father Fullerton (SSPX District Superior) will be meeting with us this<br \/>\nweek, in the hope of signing the contract so the building can begin. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">We are now praying a novena to Saint Joseph for funds to<br \/>\nbuild the remaining portion of the convent. Thanks to the continued support of<br \/>\nour benefactors, we have approximately enough to build one-third of the<br \/>\nconvent.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Meanwhile, we remain in good spirits<br \/>\nwhile making do with the cosy living quarters of our temporary chapel and convent<br \/>\narrangement, filled with our friends, the caterpillars, spiders, and the<br \/>\nkangaroos who knock on our window (well, almost!). We were excited to receive<br \/>\nthree new cabins in January, allowing us to receive the young ladies who wish<br \/>\nto try a Dominican vocation. Life in the cabins often demands bravery beyond<br \/>\nthe call of duty. One of the Sisters has counted 16 huntsman spiders in and around<br \/>\nthe convent in the last two months.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/opsisters.org.nz\/preview\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CABINS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/opsisters.org.nz\/preview\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/CABINS.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">We<br \/>\nhave also made some improvements to our Chapel.
