Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So goes the prayer that is prayed everyday at Pretiosa during the Office for the Sisters, and in the &#8220;Prayers Before School&#8221; for the girls in St Dominic&#8217;s. In it we beseech God to &#8220;direct&#8230; our prayers and our actions by [His] holy inspirations and carry them on by [His] gracious assistance,&#8221; so that &#8220;every work (and prayer) of ours may always begin from [Him], and by [Him] be happily ended.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last few weeks have been busy indeed, not just with the flowers bursting into bloom and the bees picking up their activity, but also in the events that have enriched the life of all here in Wanganui.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opsisters.org.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/octoberpost001-1024x523.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2336\" width=\"768\" height=\"392\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Annual School Fundraiser was held on 21st September this year. Thank you for all your support and helping us meet our quotas for the Bike-a-thon!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opsisters.org.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/octoberpost003-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2337\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Before the event, some of the girls set off to the Velodrome from the school in groups, led by some brave Sisters who volunteered to lead them on their bikes.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opsisters.org.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/octoberpost004-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2338\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">All the bikers (it&#8217;s really only one quarter of them!) get ready for the starting signal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.opsisters.org.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/octoberpost005-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2339\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">For some of the bikers, riding around the Velodrome is a breeze. For others, the winds are a bit of a hindrance. After all, it is only in God that &#8220;we live and move and have our being&#8221; (Acts of the Apostles 17:28).
